BinSentry is a fast-growing ag-tech company based in Kitchener, Ontario, focused on transforming the agriculture supply chain through AI-powered solutions. The company pairs optical sensors with intuitive software to help feed mills and protein producers optimize feed ordering, improve animal health, enhance employee safety, and reduce environmental impact. BinSentry currently monitors over 70,000 bins in real time across North America. You will join a team of 10 developers to build new software features and improve the core platform. This is a generalist role where you'll work across both backend and frontend systems, taking feedback from the product team and translating it into intuitive interfaces and robust underlying systems. The team moves fast with minimal bureaucracy, and you'll have the opportunity to shape the product direction while maintaining high standards for long-term maintainability. You'll work primarily with JavaScript (React and Node.js) and AWS infrastructure (DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, Serverless). The role offers exposure to computer vision and machine learning technologies that power the company's optical sensing capabilities. Success in this role requires a product-focused mindset—understanding how to maximize customer value—combined with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience) - 5+ years of professional software development experience - Proficiency in JavaScript (React, Node.js) - AWS experience (DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, Serverless) is a plus - Computer vision and ML experience is a plus - Strong problem-solving skills, proactive approach, and ability to work effectively in a team - Detail-oriented with focus on code quality and long-term maintenance - Ability to estimate tasks realistically and manage time effectively
