The Market Pricing team enables companies to price jobs in hours instead of months, build competitive pay ranges, and understand compensation decisions across their organization. This role focuses on building scalable systems that empower HR teams to make data-driven compensation decisions.
As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Market Pricing team, you will propose and implement scalable systems for sophisticated enterprise customers, partnering with stakeholders to transform ambiguous problems into shipped, production-ready features. You'll own the full development lifecycle from customer conversations through post-release monitoring, while setting technical direction across projects, mentoring engineers, and raising engineering standards.
You bring 5+ years of backend engineering experience with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and robust systems design. You have empathy for compensation teams and understand the real-world challenges in pricing employee pay. You excel at breaking down complex, ambiguous problems into concrete milestones with clear success metrics, driving them to completion with minimal oversight. You influence design decisions across the team, mentor other engineers through clear reasoning, and thrive shipping thoughtful solutions without over-engineering. You operate well in fast-paced environments with strong judgment when navigating uncertainty and tradeoffs.
