Eye Security is a European cybersecurity and cyber insurance provider (200+ FTEs) seeking a Senior SOC Analyst to join its 24/7 security operations center. This is a senior individual-contributor role with significant technical autonomy and mentorship responsibilities.
You will own complex security escalations end-to-end: performing root-cause analysis on high-risk alerts, coordinating team responses, managing client communication during difficult situations, and independently executing containment actions. You'll handle Tier 3 shifts once fully onboarded and take ownership of the team's daily workload and SLA adherence, pulling in support or escalating when targets are at risk.
Beyond day-to-day operations, you will mentor junior and mid-level analysts, answer cross-departmental security questions, improve documentation and working instructions, and identify patterns across multiple cases that reveal systemic detection gaps or false-positive sources—turning these into structured input for the detection engineering team.
You'll actively participate in team and workflow improvement projects, contribute ideas for process efficiency, and serve as a credible voice and source of knowledge within the department. This role does not include formal people management, incident response casework, or detection rule ownership (those are separate specializations).
The role offers a clear growth path: you can advance to Staff-level and optional cross-functional Principal roles on the individual-contributor track, or transition to a people-leadership track as a Team Lead.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years hands-on SOC/security operations experience
- Proven ability to own and drive the team's SLA/workload independently
- Strong client communication skills in high-risk situations
- Track record of mentoring junior colleagues
- Solid log analysis and EDR platform experience; familiarity with major cloud platforms
- Language fluency: English (internal); Dutch and/or German required or strongly preferred depending on client-facing exposure
