Salary: CAD 95,000 - 145,000 / annual
Arista Networks is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the CloudVision-as-a-Service (CVaaS) global SRE team. CloudVision is an enterprise network management and streaming telemetry SaaS offering built entirely on Kubernetes-native architecture.
You will be responsible for operating and scaling Arista's global CloudVision service fleet, ensuring reliability, stability, and scalability. The role combines strong software engineering fundamentals with systems architecture expertise and a passion for operating production systems at scale. You'll work with a distributed, follow-the-sun on-call team in a rapidly growing product environment that prioritizes automation, reliability, and customer experience.
Key areas you may drive, develop, and lead projects in include: Data Platform (NetDL) architecture and performance, capacity planning, autoscaling, disaster recovery, observability, CI/CD and change management, service network architecture, cost optimization, and infrastructure and cloud-first application security. You will continuously improve operational processes through automation and lead sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
The technical stack includes Golang, Python, Ansible/Pulumi, and Bash. You will develop, operate, and work with various database systems both on Kubernetes and leveraging managed database products. Experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) is preferred. The role involves integrating with many open-source software projects that power the microservices stack and monitoring infrastructure.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or relevant field
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience developing or managing deployments of distributed database systems or scale-out applications in a SaaS environment
- Proficiency in Python, Golang, and/or other languages; comfortable with Bash and/or other scripting languages
