You will join the Search team as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, responsible for designing, developing, and operating the cloud-based scalable architecture for NeuralSearch—Algolia's AI search engine combining keyword and vector search capabilities. This role focuses on distributed systems that orchestrate index building, storage, and querying of customer data at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the design and development of Search and Indexing systems
- Owning operational excellence for the Search system, including on-call rotation participation
- Ensuring system quality and architectural soundness
- Sharing expertise on distributed systems with the team
- Collaborating with other teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve high-impact production issues
You'll work with a fully remote-first team while having flexibility to be fully remote, hybrid, or office-based in Paris. The team values diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
Ideal candidates have:
- Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems in production
- Experience handling large datasets and high-traffic systems
- Strong commitment to code quality, automated testing, and engineering best practices
- Fluent English communication skills
- Experience at high-growth companies in the $50-200M ARR range managing infrastructure scaling
- Kubernetes expertise
- Go programming experience (nice to have)
