Salary: USD 152,500 - 205,000 / annual
Circle is a leading internet financial platform company building infrastructure for digital assets, payments, and blockchain. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will build and maintain shared platform capabilities, common libraries, and infrastructure that enable Circle teams to ship secure, reliable software quickly.
You will design, deploy, and operate scalable microservices and cloud-native infrastructure on AWS or GCP, with a focus on Kubernetes-based systems. A key part of this role involves engineering and operating Circle's autonomous coding-agent orchestration platform—you'll help teams safely adopt and operate AI-enabled tooling by implementing observability, access controls, auditability, and cost management for AI services.
Your responsibilities include improving CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows across engineering teams, troubleshooting production issues, documenting operational standards, and partnering with Product and Engineering to design resilient architectures. You'll implement monitoring, incident response, and operational best practices for both traditional production systems and AI-powered workflows.
You bring 3–6 years of professional software development experience with languages like Golang, Java, TypeScript, Python, or Rust. You have hands-on experience building and operating cloud-native applications, production workflow orchestration systems, and developer platforms. You understand distributed systems, RESTful API design, SQL databases, and have demonstrated commitment to clean, maintainable, well-tested code. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience is required.
