Salary: USD 180,000 - 220,000 / annual
Zocdoc is a leading digital health marketplace helping millions of patients find and book care. The company is expanding its infrastructure to power access to care across multiple platforms and channels.
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will develop, monitor, and maintain distributed production systems serving patients and providers at scale. You'll work with microservices and cloud infrastructure in AWS, building frameworks and processes to ensure high uptime in a constantly evolving environment. Your focus will be on making systems safer, more secure, faster, and easier to maintain.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and maintaining complex cloud-based infrastructure and services to ensure uptime for millions of patients
- Automating tooling, processes, and infrastructure to accelerate development and reduce errors
- Supporting the product engineering organization with scaling, performance, and uptime needs
- Diagnosing and debugging production issues
- Analyzing and performance-tuning systems, code, and networking for optimal operation
- Working with cutting-edge GenAI tools and technology
You'll collaborate with diverse product development teams in a blameless post-mortem culture, enforcing strong DevOps practices where product teams share responsibility for site reliability and first response. The role requires someone who is autonomous, accountable, and passionate about ensuring complex systems operate reliably.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years supporting consumer-facing web application production environments in a Site Reliability Engineering or Production Engineering role
- 2+ years on-call experience in a 24/7 cloud-based production environment
- 2+ years managing and supporting modern cloud-based environments and infrastructure (AWS/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Experience with edge technologies such as load balancers, reverse proxies, web application firewalls, and routing
- Deep understanding of protocols: TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, DNS, NTP
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent engineering experience (preferred but not required)
