Ping Identity is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the Cloud Operations team in Bengaluru. You will be responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining the infrastructure of one of the world's largest identity platforms, serving more than half of the Fortune 100.
In this role, you'll work within a DevOps model, integrated closely with development teams running continuous daily deployments. You'll take technical leadership on projects, mentor team members, and drive operational excellence across Ping's on-demand SaaS services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking technical lead on infrastructure and deployment projects
- Mentoring junior team members and providing technical guidance
- Automating infrastructure provisioning and deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform)
- Building and maintaining production infrastructure on AWS
- Designing deployment pipelines using GitOps and CI/CD methodologies (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
- Analyzing complex system behavior, performance issues, and application problems
- Developing observability solutions, alerts, and runbooks using tools like New Relic, Grafana, and CloudWatch
- Capacity planning, traffic routing, and security policy implementation
- Participating in on-call rotation (8 hours per week)
Required qualifications:
- 6-9 years of software engineering experience with focus on SRE or DevOps
- Proficiency with cloud infrastructure tools (CloudFormation, Terraform)
- Container orchestration experience (Kubernetes) and microservices architecture knowledge
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Ruby, Bash, Go, or similar)
- CI/CD automation tooling experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
- Configuration management tools expertise (Puppet, Chef, Salt)
- Deep understanding of SRE principles (SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, incident response)
- Security design knowledge for cloud-native applications
- Experience in high-volume, mission-critical production environments
- Observability tooling expertise
