DeepL is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join one of two specialized SRE teams in London. The company is a global AI product and research company with ~1,000 employees, founded in 2017, backed by Benchmark, IVP, and Index Ventures. DeepL's Language AI platform serves over 200,000 business customers and millions of individuals across 228 markets, offering human-like translation, writing improvement, and real-time voice translation. You will work within the SRE track, which comprises two teams: SRE Excellence (focused on tooling, systems usability, and monitoring) and SRE Accelerate (embedded with product teams to drive best practices). Both teams collaborate closely and are accountable for maintaining business SLAs and team SLOs across DeepL's platform. Key responsibilities include identifying and implementing technical solutions to support short-term business goals; balancing project work with on-call and interrupt-driven support; collaborating across the SRE track and broader engineering organization; ensuring consistent achievement of SLAs and SLOs; and working with product teams to improve systems and embed reliability practices. You bring pragmatism (balancing ideal solutions with iterative implementation), tenacity (driving long-term change), resilience (navigating diverse opinions), and relentless energy (thriving in a fast-paced environment). You have proven experience in SRE or DevOps roles where cross-team collaboration is essential. You possess a blend of Platform and Cloud Engineering expertise (virtual/physical hardware, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) combined with Site Reliability knowledge. You understand how to build reliable, scalable systems and processes. You have a product mindset and prioritize customer experience. DeepL values authenticity, diversity, and inclusion. The company is committed to building a workplace where all voices are represented and amplified.
