Altruist is transforming the wealth management industry with an AI platform for financial advisors. The company is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the Platform team during a growth phase. In this role, you will focus on performance and resilience of robust backend systems across all product teams. You'll collaborate closely with engineering leadership, product managers, and cross-functional teams to solve challenging technical problems and deliver exceptional solutions. Key responsibilities include: - Mentor and guide teams in implementing secure coding practices to ensure code is both performant and resilient against security vulnerabilities - Implement best practice observability with Open Telemetry, logging, and standard SLOs - Own the Incident Response process design and follow-ups - Employ automated testing practices to ensure high-quality code - Contribute to solutions with shared infrastructure that benefit all of Altruist Required experience: 3+ years building scalable backend services at B2B financial services, fintech, or SaaS organizations. You should have proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs; expertise in microservices architecture and distributed systems; strong SQL knowledge (Postgres, MySQL); and familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm. You bring strong technical aptitude, ownership mentality, superb communication skills, resilience, and creative problem-solving abilities. Bonus qualifications include AWS expertise, AI/Claude best practices, experience managing tabletop exercises, CI/CD pipeline experience with GitLab, and knowledge of Terraform, Debezium, Temporal, and Open Telemetry. Familiarity with brokerage platforms and financial services is a plus. This is a hybrid role with an expectation of being in the office at least three days per week. Locations: San Francisco Bay Area (FiDi) or Los Angeles (Culver City).
