PhysicsX is a deep-tech company building an AI-driven simulation software stack for engineering and manufacturing across advanced industries including Aerospace & Defense, Materials, Energy, Semiconductors, and Automotive. The company accelerates hardware innovation by enabling high-fidelity, multi-physics simulation through AI inference across the entire engineering lifecycle.
As a Senior Simulation Engineer specializing in Electromagnetics, you will work at the intersection of CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) and data science. Your responsibilities include:
• Independently building complex electromagnetic models covering both low-frequency applications (magnetostatics, electrostatics, motors, transformers, actuators, eddy current analysis) and high-frequency applications (microwave components, antennas, radar, RCS modeling, S-parameter analysis, signal and power integrity, EMI/EMC analysis).
• Automating simulation pipelines to enable fast optimization and parametric design coupling across a broad range of EM applications.
• Leveraging the company's cloud platform and on-premises HPC infrastructure to accelerate high-fidelity models through smart model setup and meshing choices.
• Collaborating closely with customers to understand their engineering challenges, presenting results clearly, and suggesting next steps while balancing accuracy and efficiency under tight deadlines.
• Generating accurate simulation results and predictions to train advanced Machine Learning and Deep Learning models, continuously improving engineering practices to support Deep Learning surrogate development.
• Mentoring junior engineers as part of a collaborative team.
• Traveling to customer sites in North America approximately 3-4 weeks per quarter for on-site collaboration and solution building.
You bring at least 3-5 years of post-graduate industry experience in a commercial, non-research environment. You are highly proficient in at least one industry-standard EM simulation platform (Ansys HFSS, Ansys Maxwell, CST Studio Suite, COMSOL Multiphysics, Altair FEKO, Altair Flux, or Siemens Simcenter MAGNET). Strong coding skills in Python and/or MATLAB are advantageous. Experience with PCB layout and signal integrity analysis tools (Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer, Ansys SIwave) is a nice-to-have. You are comfortable setting up complex EM simulations independently, interpreting results with depth, and making informed decisions based on solid physics and engineering judgment.
The role is based in New York City with a hybrid arrangement of 2-3 days per week in the office. As the role evolves, there are opportunities for growth as an individual contributor or technical lead.
