Senior Simulation Engineer

Impulse is seeking a Senior Simulation Engineer to develop and maintain high-fidelity simulations of space vehicle dynamics, sensors, actuators, and propulsion systems. You will be a key technical contributor supporting the design, verification, and mission planning of advanced spacecraft including Mira, Helios, and future platforms. Key responsibilities include: - Develop physics-based models of vehicle dynamics, reaction control systems, propulsion systems, and other subsystems as needed - Integrate simulation frameworks into hardware-in-the-loop testbeds to enable realistic testing environments - Collaborate across disciplines (GNC, software, test teams) to validate simulation models and behaviors against analysis and test data - Support system-level analysis, trade studies, and performance assessments - Contribute to software and tool development to improve simulation workflows and efficiency - Provide simulation support for verification and validation of flight software - Participate in simulation reviews, test readiness reviews, and mission dress rehearsals Required qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field - 7+ years of experience in modeling and simulation of physical systems - Proficiency in C++ and Python - Strong understanding of dynamics, thermodynamics, and/or fluid mechanics - Experience with version control systems (Git) - Experience with LabVIEW This is a hands-on technical role for an experienced engineer who can bridge simulation, hardware testing, and flight operations for cutting-edge space systems.
