Graphcore is seeking a Senior Semiconductor Reliability Engineer to lead reliability strategy for advanced AI silicon designed for datacenter-scale deployment. In this role, you will own the reliability roadmap across advanced silicon nodes and packaging technologies, guiding the transition from ambitious design through bring-up, qualification, and manufacturing.
You will assess technical risk, lead qualification efforts, guide design sign-off, and drive failure analysis across silicon, interconnect, and package technologies. This is a central role connecting device physics, design, packaging, and manufacturing—you will work across silicon, packaging, manufacturing, and quality teams to translate technical findings into product-level decisions.
The role emphasizes data-driven decision-making, technical rigor, and clear communication. You will challenge assumptions, mentor colleagues, and help build stronger reliability methods as Graphcore scales its advanced AI hardware platforms.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. You must have strong semiconductor reliability experience across silicon, BEOL, interconnect, or advanced packaging technologies, with deep understanding of failure mechanisms such as EM (electromigration), TDDB (time-dependent dielectric breakdown), BTI (bias temperature instability), and HCI (hot carrier injection).
Hands-on experience with HTOL (high-temperature operating life), thermal cycling, thermal shock, reflow testing, and JEDEC reliability standards is essential. You should be comfortable using X-ray and CSAM (C-mode scanning acoustic microscopy) analysis to diagnose package defects and support root-cause analysis. Strong technical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively across foundries, OSATs (outsourced assembly and test providers), labs, and internal teams are critical.
Graphcore offers flexible working arrangements, generous leave, up to 5% matched pension, phantom equity, thoughtfully designed office spaces with free food and on-site barista, income protection and life assurance, and flexible benefits including private medical insurance and dental cover. The company welcomes diverse backgrounds and is committed to an inclusive environment. Visa sponsorship is available.
