Salary: USD 122,400 - 177,500 / annual
Expel is seeking a Senior Security Solutions Engineer to serve as the technical backbone of its Customer Success organization. In this role, you'll be the escalation point and subject-matter expert that CSMs, TAMs, and support engineers turn to for complex security questions. You'll untangle thorny technical issues, document solutions to prevent future delays, and ensure the broader team stays focused on customer relationships.
Key responsibilities include: responding quickly and accurately to ad-hoc technical questions from customer-facing teams; joining customer calls when deep expertise is needed; authoring and refining technical documentation and process guides; partnering with Security, Detection & Response, and Engineering teams to operationalize knowledge; maintaining internal and external knowledge repositories; enabling other teams to handle more questions independently; and mentoring less experienced teammates.
You bring 7+ years of security experience, with at least 3.5 years in a technical, customer-facing (ideally consultative) role. You have demonstrated depth across multiple security product spaces (EDR, NDR, SIEM, cloud, etc.) and understand the tradeoffs teams make in security operations. You excel at root-cause analysis, troubleshooting complex issues, and communicating effectively across technical practitioners and senior leadership. You're fluent in security controls across Windows, Unix/Linux, AWS, GSuite, O365, and network infrastructure; understand attack vectors, threat tactics, and the ATT&CK framework; and bring strong consultative instincts including active listening, conflict management, and graceful escalation. A bachelor's degree and/or relevant certifications are a plus, but demonstrated capability matters more than credentials.
