Lambda is a leader in AI cloud infrastructure serving tens of thousands of customers globally. As a Senior Security Engineer on the Enterprise Security team, you will report to the CISO and play a key role in protecting Lambda's SaaS applications, corporate IT infrastructure, identity and access management systems, and endpoint ecosystems. Your focus will be on establishing secure-by-default configurations, automating access governance, and protecting corporate environments as the company scales rapidly.
You will directly impact Lambda's security posture by implementing robust Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), hardening corporate SaaS tools, automating joiner-mover-leaver (JML) workflows, and deploying zero-trust network access controls. A unique aspect of this role is the opportunity to leverage Lambda's hosted LLMs to pioneer AI-driven enterprise security automation—such as intelligent access reviews, automated policy enforcement, and SaaS risk monitoring.
Key responsibilities include:
**Identity & Access Governance:** Design, deploy, and maintain IAM architectures and SSO/IdP integrations (Okta, Entra ID); automate JML workflows and lifecycle management; build automated access certification and review tooling; implement strong MFA standards and passwordless solutions.
**SaaS Security & Corporate Infrastructure:** Establish SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM) for corporate applications (Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, Jira, Salesforce); define baseline security configurations and patch management policies; architect Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and VPN/SASE solutions.
**Automation & Strategic Innovation:** Develop custom security automation tools in Python or Go; pioneer AI-powered workflows leveraging Lambda's LLMs for third-party risk analysis and anomaly detection; assess vendor risks and build automated tooling.
**Governance & Cross-Functional Alignment:** Collaborate with IT, Legal, HR, and Compliance teams to align with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HIPAA frameworks; establish security documentation and awareness guidelines; define strategic roadmap initiatives.
The role requires presence in the Bellevue, San Francisco, or San Jose office 4 days per week, with Tuesday designated as the work-from-home day.
**Requirements:**
- 5+ years of dedicated security engineering experience, with focus on enterprise security, corporate security, or IAM infrastructure
- Proven experience designing and scaling IAM architectures (Okta, Entra ID, SAML/OIDC, SCIM, PAM)
- Hands-on technical expertise in securing corporate SaaS applications and managing SSPM tools
- Strong programming and scripting capabilities (Python, Go, or PowerShell) for identity lifecycle and security operations automation
- Solid understanding of Zero Trust architecture, EDR, MDM, and corporate network security
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with track record of partnering with IT, Legal, and HR
- Ability to balance robust security controls with employee experience and productivity
- Thrives in fast-moving, high-growth startup environments
**Nice to Have:**
- Excitement about leveraging state-of-the-art LLMs for enterprise security innovation
- Experience building enterprise security and IAM programs at high-growth tech companies or cloud providers
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, HIPAA) and audit preparation
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for enterprise identity and SaaS configurations
- Deep technical background enabling hands-on contribution
- Experience with build vs. buy decisions for security tooling
- Experience driving or providing significant evidence for compliance audits (SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, HIPAA/HITECH, FedRAMP)
