Cogent Security is building an AI cyber taskforce using generative AI agents to autonomously protect organizations from emerging threats. The company was founded by seasoned engineering and product leaders from top companies like Abnormal Security, Coinbase, Microsoft, Tesla, and Stripe, and recently raised a large Seed round led by Greylock Partners. As Senior Security Engineer for Corporate Security, you will own the security of Cogent's internal systems, endpoints, and enterprise tooling. You'll be responsible for hardening and managing the systems the team relies on daily—laptops, identity, SaaS applications, and the corporate environment—while building controls and automation that scale security without slowing the organization. Key responsibilities include: - Hardening and managing endpoints across the fleet (macOS and others), including baseline hardening, device posture, EDR coverage and tuning - Owning corporate identity and access management: SSO/MFA, least-privilege access, and identity hygiene across the SaaS stack - Securing and standardizing enterprise systems and SaaS environments; driving Zero Trust and device-trust patterns - Building automation and tooling to enforce security configuration and scale controls efficiently - Handling enterprise security operations: detection, monitoring, and response for corporate systems - Serving as the internal security subject matter expert on corporate systems and workflow decisions You'll need 5+ years of experience building and managing corporate security/IT security programs, with strong hands-on engineering skills. Deep expertise in endpoint hardening, enterprise systems, and OS internals (macOS, Windows, Linux) is essential. You should have broad experience across CorpSec domains including endpoint security, corporate identity, SaaS security, device trust, and Zero Trust architectures. Strong automation ability (Python or similar) is required to build and maintain tooling that scales your impact. You're comfortable with ambiguity, high ownership, and direct impact as an early security hire at a startup. Bonus qualifications include experience standing up CorpSec functions from early stage, familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2) and audit support, DLP/secrets management experience, and daily use of AI coding tools and agentic workflows.
