VAST Data is seeking a hands-on Senior Security Engineer to join and lead their growing security team. This role combines offensive security expertise with modern infrastructure and cloud security responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead offensive security initiatives and penetration testing across the company's architecture
- Conduct deep protocol analysis and identify security flaws in systems and infrastructure
- Build internal security automation using modern workflows and AI agents to improve detection and response
- Manage cloud and infrastructure security risks across the organization
- Write custom security tooling and automation to support security operations
- Drive security findings from initial discovery through full resolution and remediation
- Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to implement security improvements
You will work on a range of security challenges including application security, infrastructure hardening, cloud security, and emerging threats. The role emphasizes hands-on technical work with opportunities to influence security strategy and build automation that scales across the organization. This is an individual contributor role with significant technical scope and the opportunity to mentor junior security team members.
