Salary: CAD 146,000 - 184,000 / annual

As a Senior Security Engineer focused on Hardware Security, you will be a key member of the Product Security Team, serving as the primary security partner for Engineering and Hardware teams. This is a strategic, technical role for architects who want to scale security through programs, influence, and engineering excellence. Key responsibilities include: - Building hardware and embedded security baselines and processes across Motive devices, including boot chain, firmware, FOTA (firmware-over-the-air), and manufacturing - Driving relationships with hardware engineering teams to ensure security findings are prioritized, validated, and remediated - Identifying and assessing hardware security risks across the product lifecycle (design, manufacturing, deployment, updating, decommissioning) - Leading hardware security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and security testing for product systems - Defining and reviewing security requirements for hardware platforms, embedded systems, firmware interfaces, boot processes, debug capabilities, and device lifecycle controls in cloud-connected environments - Driving end-to-end security for device hardware across IoT and cloud security infrastructure Required qualifications: - 5+ years of hardware security experience, including creating security-by-design patterns for new devices and platforms - 5+ years working with product teams on security designs and requirements - 5+ years of hands-on development experience in Python, C, or C++ - Strong understanding of hardware root of trust, secure boot, attestation, key protection, device identity, and secure provisioning - Demonstrated hands-on experience designing, reviewing, and validating security controls for hardware and low-level system architectures - Experience in cloud security, runtime security, supply chain security, and application security best practices
