ICEYE, the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space, is seeking a Senior Satellite Industrialization Engineer to join the Industrialization Systems team within the Global Manufacturing Organization. This is a permanent, hybrid role based in Espoo, Finland.
You will drive the technical work that moves satellite designs toward industrial maturity (MRL 8-9), focusing on design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-excellence (DFX) standards. Your responsibilities include developing and maintaining design rules, tolerancing guidance, and material/process selection criteria that ground satellite engineering in real manufacturing constraints.
Day-to-day, you will support design-review gates as a technical reviewer, help define gate criteria, and work across Engineering, Assembly-Integration-Test (AIT), and Production teams to gather input on production line design, automation requirements, and facility needs. You'll build and maintain manufacturability tooling—checklists, scorecards, and templates—that design and production teams actively use. You'll also track key metrics as satellite and subsystem designs progress through MRL stages and coordinate with the Global Manufacturing Infrastructure team to implement requirements across multiple sites.
You bring hands-on design or systems engineering experience in satellite hardware, with demonstrated depth in RF, optical, or broader satellite subsystems. You understand how design decisions cascade into manufacturability, tolerancing, integration, and test outcomes. You're comfortable doing the technical work of building standards and tooling under the direction of the function lead, and you excel at translating complex technical detail into clear, actionable standard and tooling content.
Experience with DFM/DFX practices, design-review gates, or producibility standards in aerospace or comparable hardware environments is a plus. Exposure to production line, automation, or facility requirements for hardware manufacturing, familiarity with cleanroom environments and EGSE/MGSE, and experience in multi-site or scale-up manufacturing environments are all valued.
ICEYE operates the world's largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation, serving defense, intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance, and emergency management customers globally. The company was founded and is headquartered in Finland, with over 1,000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
