Salary: USD 117,683 - 158,817 / annual
Parts Town, a fast-growing distributor of restaurant equipment, HVAC, and residential appliance parts, is seeking a Senior SAP ABAP Developer to join their Chicago-area team on a hybrid schedule.
In this role, you will develop, enhance, debug, support, maintain, and test SAP ABAP software solutions supporting S/4 HANA and GTS business systems. You'll be involved across the full lifecycle—from design and development through implementation and post-production support. You'll collaborate closely with business process owners, analysts, functional engineers, and global business users to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Interfacing with business teams to understand data requirements and establish data models
- Performing data profiling and analysis activities
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation
- Contributing to process automation and performance improvements
- Ensuring security and compliance with governance policies
- Participating in unit, integration, and UAT testing
- Designing and developing ABAP objects, data dictionary structures, and SAP Fiori applications
- Building interfaces to non-SAP applications using RFCs, BAPIs, ALE/IDOC, ODATA, and Web Services
- Implementing SAP enhancement techniques (EXITS, BADIS, AIF)
Required qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of business processes (sales order, purchasing, distribution, payables, receivables)
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Experience collaborating with SAP Business Systems Analysts
- At least one full SAP implementation lifecycle and post-production support
- Strong ABAP development and Workbench navigation skills
- Experience integrating SAP with third-party SQL Server systems
- Hands-on experience with SAP Fiori applications and custom extensions
- Proficiency with data dictionary objects, structures, views, and lock objects
Bonus: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
