CarOnSale is an AI-powered B2B used car trading platform operating across 20+ countries with 40,000+ buyers and exclusive inventory. The Inventory team owns the Salesforce Service and Sales Cloud layer that processes all transactions on the platform.
In this Senior Salesforce Developer role, you will own the design, development, and maintenance of Service Cloud and Sales Cloud solutions that power dealer and buyer processes end-to-end. Your core responsibilities include building and customizing Apex classes, Lightning Web Components, and Visualforce pages; designing and maintaining two-way integrations between Salesforce and the core platform using REST APIs and Platform Events; and making architectural decisions about when to use standard configuration (Flows, metadata, permission sets) versus custom development.
You will design data models and API integrations that keep transaction data consistent across systems, take ownership of reducing technical debt in the existing codebase, and ensure reliability and performance through monitoring and clean deployment practices. You'll work in agile sprints, shape architecture decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Required qualifications: 4+ years of hands-on Salesforce development with Service Cloud and Sales Cloud in production; deep expertise in Apex, LWC, Aura, Visualforce, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS; strong relational data modeling with SOQL and SQL; solid understanding of event-driven architecture and Salesforce integration patterns; clear judgment on platform configuration versus custom development; comfort with release management and scrum frameworks; C1-level English; and active use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) in daily work.
Nice-to-have skills include Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I/II or Service Cloud Consultant), B2-level German, and experience mentoring developers.
The role is hybrid: 3 days in Berlin Schöneberg or Munich office, 2 days remote, plus 10 "Work from Anywhere" days annually. Benefits include 28 days annual leave, career development conversations, 20% employer pension contribution, subsidized public transport, fitness membership subsidy, virtual stock options, free tech choice, structured onboarding, and a diverse, inclusive workplace.
