CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior RF Engineer to join its hardware team in El Segundo, CA. The role focuses on RF circuits and systems design for satellites, spacecraft, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other aerospace platforms.
You will own RF hardware designs across the full development lifecycle: concept through requirements definition, part selection, detailed design, analysis, manufacturing, testing, qualification, and in-orbit support. Key responsibilities include board-level schematic design and PCB layout of RF circuits, system-level communications analysis (link budgets, modulation schemes), and work on phased array communication systems including RF front-ends, frequency converters, synthesizers, filters, beamformers, power dividers, and phased array antennas.
Day-to-day tasks span block diagrams, detailed schematics, PCB layout and routing, simulations, and test design. You will present engineering design review materials to customers and the executive team, and contribute to proposal-writing efforts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
The ideal candidate has proven experience in board-level RF electronics design, understands system-level communications concepts, and thrives in a dynamic startup environment working on cutting-edge aerospace hardware. This is a hands-on, technical role with cross-functional collaboration across the organization.
