Precision Medicine Group is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to join its Evidence Synthesis and Decision Modelling team. This role focuses on building innovative health economic models in R for pharma and biotech clients. You will collaborate with a specialized team of health economists, statisticians, and researchers on methodologically advanced projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Programming and building health economic simulation models independently in R and Excel/VBA from scratch
- Planning, programming, and reporting R-based and Excel-based cost-effectiveness simulation models
- Evaluating studies to identify key result drivers, assess data or methodological gaps, and suggest solutions
- Leading implementation of simulation-based cost-effectiveness analyses
- Contributing to client-ready study deliverables including model conceptualization, analysis plans, result interpretations, sensitivity analyses, and technical reports
- Presenting progress and results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, internally and externally
- Ensuring timely delivery of project components while managing multiple workstreams

REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's degree in health economics, statistics, or related discipline
- Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in a consulting environment serving biotech, pharmaceutical, or healthcare clients
- Proven R programming skills with experience programming cost-effectiveness simulation models in R
- Understanding of and experience applying statistical methods in health economics (e.g., parametric survival regression model extrapolation, network meta-analyses, probabilistic sensitivity analyses)
- Proficiency with Excel and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming
- Expertise in collaborative versioning software (git/GitHub)
- Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a diverse team
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking capabilities
- Willingness and desire to learn and share knowledge
HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with Python, C++, or other programming languages
- Familiarity with R packages: hesim, shiny, Rcpp
- Experience with Bayesian statistics and advanced modelling techniques
- Knowledge of indirect treatment comparisons (network meta-analysis, matching-adjusted indirect comparison, simulated treatment comparison)
