RobCo is building autonomous industrial robotics solutions combining hardware, software, and AI. As Senior Reliability Engineer, you will be the technical authority ensuring system-level robustness and long-term endurance across modular robotic platforms. You will direct the multi-year reliability and endurance test roadmap, serving as technical authority for the physical test team. You'll close the loop against field and service data, translating operational insights into optimized maintenance intervals, spare-part strategies, and concrete design changes. You own system-level reliability across core products and module families, building Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs) to aggregate component data into module-, arm-, and system-level reliability targets at defined confidence levels. Key responsibilities include setting reliability requirements early and enforcing them during design reviews to shape product architecture, driving failure mode identification by leading DFMEA and FMEDA sessions, executing deep statistical analyses (MTBF/MTTF for random failures, L10/B10 wear-out life for bearings/gears/brakes), and evaluating data integrity with sharp engineering judgment. You'll work cross-functionally across hardware design, physical testing, and field operations. The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or comparable experience, plus several years in reliability engineering focused on complex electro-mechanical products. Strong ownership, pragmatic working style, analytical rigor, and very good English skills are essential. Practical command of RBD modeling, MTBF/MTTF prediction, L10/B10 life calculation, and hands-on FMEA/FMEDA experience required. Nice-to-have qualifications include background in robotics, industrial automation, automotive, aerospace, or medical devices; domain knowledge of servo drivetrains; familiarity with functional safety standards (ISO 13849, IEC 61508, IEC 62061, ISO 26262); experience with specialized reliability tools (ReliaSoft, Isograph, Windchill Quality, SISTEMA, Minitab, Python/R); and experience with modular/configurable product families. RobCo offers flexible working hours, modern office, optional work-from-home, subsidized wellness membership across 7,200+ studios in Germany, flat hierarchies, open communication, regular 360° feedback, and team events.
