Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Red Team Engineer to join the Discovery team, a business line focused on incubating and maturing high-potential, software-defined, AI-native systems across hardware, software, space, and cyber domains. In this role, you will serve as the adversary to Anduril's own systems, identifying wrong assumptions, unmodeled failure modes, and design weaknesses before they reach the field. This is a hands-on, deeply cross-functional position requiring you to embed with and pressure-test the work of Systems Engineering, Guidance Navigation & Control (GNC), Software, Hardware, Mission Operations, and Test Engineering teams. You will independently reconstruct their analyses, break their models, and stress-test trade studies across domains spanning space, missiles, air vehicles, autonomy, and sensors. Key responsibilities include: - Independently execute red-team designs, models, and analyses to hunt failure modes and surface hidden assumptions - Develop models, simulations, and analysis tooling to prove or break claims rather than accepting them on faith - Reconstruct and independently verify others' work, finding errors others miss - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate findings into actionable guidance that measurably improves design - Leverage hands-on systems-building experience to catch problems in analysis rather than in flight - Communicate complex results with strong visual presentation to engineers, leadership, and stakeholders Required qualifications include an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance, hands-on experience designing/building and analyzing real engineering systems, demonstrated ability to find problems others miss, proven track record of independently owning deliverables, proficiency with physics-math scripting (MATLAB, Simulink, Python), and strong engineering background in aerospace, dynamics & controls, GNC, systems, or similar fields. Preferred qualifications include 8+ years in relevant science/engineering, hands-on experience across multiple domains (space systems, missiles, air vehicles, GNC, sensors, radar, EW), formal red-team or test & evaluation experience, comfort moving between domains and physics regimes, exceptional scripting proficiency, familiarity with domain analysis tools (STK/Astrogator, AFSIM), and experience with genetic algorithms, machine learning, AI, and reinforcement learning.
