Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Red Team Engineer to join the Discovery team, a group focused on incubating and maturing high-potential, software-defined, AI-native offerings across hardware, software, space, and cyber domains. In this role, you will serve as the adversary to Anduril's own systems, identifying wrong assumptions, unmodeled failure modes, and design weaknesses before they reach the field. You will execute red-team designs, models, and analyses independently across funded programs, hunting failure modes and pressure-testing trade studies before decisions are locked in. This is a hands-on, deeply cross-functional role where you will embed with and challenge the work of Systems Engineering, GNC, Software, Hardware, Mission Operations, and Test Engineering teams. You will independently reconstruct and verify their analyses, break their models, and stress-test their trade studies across multiple domains including space, missiles, air vehicles, autonomy, and sensors. Key responsibilities include developing models and simulations to prove or break claims, reconstructing and independently verifying others' work to find errors, translating findings into actionable guidance that improves design, and communicating complex results with strong visual presentation to engineers, leadership, and stakeholders. You will bring hands-on systems-building experience to ensure problems are caught in analysis rather than in flight. Required qualifications include an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance, hands-on experience designing/building and analyzing real engineering systems, demonstrated ability to find problems others miss, proven track record of independently owning deliverables, proficiency with physics-math scripting (MATLAB, Simulink, Python), and a strong engineering background in aerospace, dynamics & controls, GNC, systems, or similar fields. Outstanding communication skills, including visual presentation of complex data, are essential. Preferred qualifications include 8+ years in a relevant science/engineering field, hands-on design and analysis experience across multiple domains (space systems, missiles, air vehicles, GNC, sensors, radar, EW), formal red-team or test & evaluation experience, comfort moving between domains and physics regimes, exceptional proficiency with physics-math scripting, familiarity with domain analysis tools (STK/Astrogator, AFSIM), and experience with genetic algorithms, machine learning, AI, and reinforcement learning.
