FlixBus is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Mexico City. This role focuses on record-to-report accounting functions, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial operations through comprehensive risk assessment, process efficiency, and compliance oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, tax, and legal to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Interpret and analyze financial information to recommend efficient use of resources and procedures
- Provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
- Support external and internal audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Work closely with headquarters teams, tax team, legal personnel, and system teams to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
The role operates in a hybrid model with an office-first approach but offers flexibility. Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
- Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting/finance
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective time management and organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Fluent in English and Spanish with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
