Stream is hiring a Senior React SDK Developer to join their SDK team in Skopje. You'll develop and maintain Stream's React Chat, Feeds, and Video SDKs—open-source libraries used by thousands of engineers and billions of end users.
Key responsibilities include integrating new features from the roadmap, maintaining existing functionality, supporting customers and prospects, improving SDK documentation, and collaborating with backend, design, and other SDK teams to ensure consistency and quality.
You'll work on complex technical challenges that enable customers to build sophisticated integrations. The role offers visibility—your work is public and open source—and the opportunity to impact developer experience at scale.
Ideal candidates come from startup backgrounds with experience building developer tools and open-source projects. You should have solid React and TypeScript skills, understand browser and framework performance deeply, and care about UX and accessibility. Experience with performance optimization techniques (state management, memoization, virtualization, re-rendering cycles) and maintaining comprehensive test suites is essential.
Bonus experience includes React Native, Angular, Vue, or other UI frameworks. Stream uses modern React, TypeScript, RxJS, WebRTC, Protobuf, Twirp, OpenAPI, React Virtuoso, React Markdown, WASM, WebWorkers, Vitest, Jest, and Playwright.
