Nusano is seeking a Senior R&D Radiochemist to lead chemistry development workstreams for radioisotope production used in cancer treatment and diagnosis. This is an onsite role based in West Valley City, Utah.
In this role, you will own significant chemistry workstreams end-to-end, designing and executing complex experiments while applying quality-by-design (QbD) principles. You will lead planning, execution, and troubleshooting of chemistry development initiatives, including designing experiments, analyzing data, and recommending next steps. You will apply QbD principles and lead risk-based assessments for assigned programs, driving continuous improvement of chemistry processes and workflows.
You will support benchtop-to-hot cell scale-up activities and process hand-off to Operations, coordinating with safety and other experts to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements for new product development and production. You will provide subject matter expertise during cross-functional investigations and technical discussions.
A key responsibility is mentoring early-career scientists, providing guidance in experimental execution, data analysis, and documentation. You will guide staff on laboratory best practices, safety, and compliance, support development and delivery of staff training, and assist with onboarding of new staff through informal coaching.
You will generate high-quality technical documentation, including development reports and experimental records, maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, and ensure data integrity through peer review. You will follow chemical and radiological safety procedures and support continuous improvement of safe laboratory practices.
Nusano is a privately held physics company commercializing platform technologies for radioisotope production, stable isotope enrichment, and advanced separation techniques to supply cancer treatment solutions and support the nuclear renaissance.
