As Senior Radiation Effects & Resilience Engineer, you will lead radiation effects analysis and resilience strategy for orbital compute systems. Key responsibilities include analyzing radiation effects on advanced semiconductors (GPUs, CPUs, FPGAs, ASICs, memory, power electronics), evaluating mitigation techniques for SEU, SET, SEL, TID, and displacement damage, and defining architectural resilience strategies including ECC, redundancy, and fault detection. You will plan and execute radiation test campaigns with external laboratories, analyze test results to derive reliability metrics and FIT estimates, develop radiation hardness assurance methodologies, collaborate on shielding strategies, investigate anomalies, and contribute to component selection and deployment reviews. Required: 5+ years hands-on experience in radiation effects analysis, radiation testing, or space systems reliability; deep understanding of radiation interactions with semiconductors; strong knowledge of TID, SEE, and DDD; experience planning radiation characterization campaigns; experience with high-performance compute hardware or spaceborne electronics. Preferred: familiarity with architectural fault tolerance and resilient distributed systems, knowledge of NASA/ESA/ECSS/MIL-STD standards, experience with shielding optimization, radiation simulation experience. This role offers high autonomy and ownership with direct impact on spacecraft design, fast iteration cycles from design to hardware testing, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and the opportunity to define hardware systems for a new class of space infrastructure.
