LawnStarter is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to lead test automation and release quality across their on-demand marketplace platform connecting homeowners with lawn care and outdoor service professionals. This role bridges engineering and product, with a focus on building confidence into every release before it reaches customers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and evolving automated testing coverage across web and mobile products
- Working directly with engineering pods to integrate quality checks into the development process from the start
- Leading root-cause investigations when production issues surface and coordinating cross-team resolution
- Strengthening the CI/CD pipeline's testing infrastructure
- Coaching engineers on writing better tests and identifying edge cases earlier in development
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of hands-on QA/QE experience, including building and maintaining automated test frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright. You should have experience testing both web and mobile applications in production environments and a solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how automated testing integrates into them. Experience working in a marketplace, two-sided platform, or fast-moving startup environment is valued.
Required qualifications include strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across engineering, product, and support teams. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is expected.
