Seismic is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer II specializing in Performance Engineering to join their Quality Engineering organization. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of Seismic's AI-powered enablement platform by designing, building, and executing robust performance testing frameworks and strategies.
You will design and implement end-to-end performance testing strategies covering load, stress, endurance, and scalability scenarios. You'll build and maintain performance test frameworks and scripts using modern tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or Locust, then execute tests and analyze results to identify bottlenecks, latency issues, and system constraints. Your work will span UI, APIs, backend services, and data stores to validate system performance across the cloud-native platform.
Collaboration is central to this role. You'll work closely with engineering, SRE, infrastructure, and delivery teams to tune applications, infrastructure, and services. You'll integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and release processes, monitor system performance using tools such as Grafana, New Relic, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or Splunk, and troubleshoot issues across application, database, and infrastructure layers.
You'll contribute to capacity planning, scalability design, and performance best practices while continuously improving performance engineering practices and tooling. The role also involves leveraging AI-assisted tools to improve analysis, debugging, and test efficiency.
Required qualifications include 5–8 years of experience in performance testing or performance engineering, strong experience with performance testing tools, solid understanding of distributed systems and performance bottleneck analysis, hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). You should have familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes), strong scripting/programming skills (Python, Java, or similar), experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, and a strong understanding of SDLC and Agile practices.
