Salary: CAD 75,000 - 150,000 / annual

This Senior Quality Engineer role is part of the Quality Assurance and Release Engineering team, responsible for functional and automation testing of software products serving the pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices sectors.
In this role, you will create comprehensive testing documentation including test plans, test cases, and bug reports that assess quality and risk. You'll mentor junior QA engineers in QA methodologies and best practices, develop deep product expertise, and work closely with the automation group to expand regression coverage. You'll conduct QA testing, verify outcomes within timelines, and collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and other QA testers in an agile team environment focused on speed and quality.
Key responsibilities include functional and automation testing across sanity, boundary, negative, compatibility, and concurrency scenarios. You'll leverage SQL database queries, Unix/Linux command line tools for log analysis, and API testing tools like Postman. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in small, fast-paced agile teams are essential.
Required qualifications: 7+ years of relevant work experience in software development and/or test automation; deep understanding of QA methodologies and tools; proven experience writing and automating test cases; working knowledge of SQL; strong Unix/Linux command line expertise; proficiency with API testing tools; and coding experience in Java and/or mobile languages.
Nice-to-have skills include Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence), functional test automation frameworks (Cucumber, Selenium, TestNg), SaaS and agile development experience, remote team collaboration, life sciences industry background, and mobile testing/automation expertise (Appium, XCUI, Espresso, KIF).
