As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll join the Quality Assurance and Release Engineering team, responsible for functional and automation testing of software products serving the pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices sectors.
You will create comprehensive testing documentation including test plans, test cases, and bug reports that assess quality and risk. A key responsibility is mentoring junior QA engineers in QA methodologies and best practices. You'll work closely with the automation group to expand regression coverage through test automation, develop deep product expertise, and conduct QA testing within strict schedules. Collaboration is central to the role—you'll partner with software engineers, product managers, and other QA testers in an agile team environment focused on speed and quality.
Required qualifications include 7+ years of relevant experience in software development and/or test automation. You must have strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and approaches (black box and automated testing) in fast-release-cycle SaaS environments. Proficiency in writing and automating test cases covering sanity, boundary, negative, compatibility, and concurrency testing is essential. You need working knowledge of SQL database queries, strong Unix/Linux command-line skills for log analysis, and expertise with API testing tools like Postman. Coding experience in Java and/or mobile languages is required, along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-have skills include SQL expertise, familiarity with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence), experience authoring automated tests in frameworks like Cucumber/Selenium/TestNg, knowledge of modern software development best practices, and experience in SaaS agile environments. Mobile testing and automation experience (Appium, XCUI, Espresso, KIF) and mobile app development knowledge (Android/iOS) are valued. Prior experience in health sciences or life sciences industries and working with remote teams is a plus.
