Nucleus Security is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to ensure quality, reliability, and performance across their vulnerability management platform. The role combines manual and automated testing across front-end, back-end, and data layers, with a focus on building scalable automation frameworks and leveraging AI tools to improve testing efficiency.
Key responsibilities include designing and executing comprehensive test coverage (functional, regression, smoke, integration, end-to-end) for complex cross-system features; building and maintaining automation frameworks using Java, Selenium WebDriver, and Playwright following the Page Object Model pattern; writing and executing complex SQL queries to validate data integrity and business logic; and investigating root causes of complex or intermittent failures.
You will act as a quality advocate within the team, reviewing test code, sharing testing practices, and raising design concerns early. Database and data validation work is significant, including verifying data accuracy through ingestion, normalization, and processing workflows, testing data migrations, and maintaining reusable test data sets.
The role emphasizes AI-assisted testing, including hands-on experience with AI tools for test case generation, test data creation, and defect analysis. Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) tooling and AI-assisted coding tools is expected, with sound judgment about validation of AI-generated output.
You will collaborate with the QA Manager, developers, and product managers to clarify requirements; mentor less experienced QA engineers; participate in design reviews; and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and standards. Integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and optimization within DevOps workflows is part of the scope.
Required qualifications: 8+ years in software quality assurance with at least 5 years in test automation; strong Java programming skills; hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and Playwright; experience contributing to automation framework design or significant refactoring; solid API testing and strong SQL skills; working knowledge of CI/CD tooling and version control; strong analytical and debugging skills.
Preferred experience includes cybersecurity or vulnerability management background, familiarity with security concepts, MCP servers or agent-based testing workflows, and experience testing ETL or data pipelines.
