You will join as a Senior Python Engineer to design and build a Python-based platform layer that acts as a bridge and execution environment for high-load, business-critical workflows. This is not a standalone backend but rather a strategic architectural component that decouples complexity from the core platform and enables scalable execution of business logic. Key responsibilities include: - Designing and building a Python-based platform layer integrated with the core system - Defining patterns for service communication, orchestration, and responsibility split between core and Python services - Developing scalable, async services handling high-load and latency-sensitive workflows - Owning API contracts between systems, ensuring stability and backward compatibility - Extracting functionality from core into scalable services to improve performance or maintainability - Ensuring reliability through observability (monitoring, logging, tracing) - Designing for failure with retries, idempotency, and consistency guarantees - Driving engineering quality through testing strategy, CI/CD, and safe rollout practices - Collaborating with Platform and Product teams to align architecture with business needs - Contributing to long-term platform scalability Required qualifications: - 5+ years of commercial Python development in production environments - Strong expertise in modern Python frameworks (FastAPI preferred; Django/Flask acceptable) - Solid experience designing and integrating APIs, including third-party services - Strong understanding of async programming and concurrency (AsyncIO, non-blocking I/O) - Experience with PostgreSQL and large datasets - Proven track record building and maintaining high-load backend systems - Strong testing practices (unit and integration tests; PyTest preferred) - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Docker - Strong ownership and product mindset Desirable experience includes: queue systems and job processing, infrastructure work, third-party API integration, NoSQL solutions, analytical systems, and advanced database skills (replication, partitioning, sharding, PL/pgSQL).
