Relativity Space is building Terran R, a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle designed to deliver payloads to orbit. The Stennis Test team designs, builds, and operates test sites that evaluate the rocket's high-energy components, engines, and booster/upper stages. As a Senior Propulsion Test Engineer, you'll work across three focus areas: Design & Build, Operations, and Integration. In the Design & Build focus, you'll design fluid systems (gas, liquid, cryogenic) with P&IDs and component selection; design structural and mechanical systems using 3D modeling and analysis; source components and develop fabrication instructions; bring new test stands online through fabrication and activation; design upgrades to operational test stands; and maintain systems through preventive maintenance and rapid anomaly response. In the Operations focus, you'll conduct test operations on high-energy components, engines, and stages; control test stands and articles through GUIs and automation while monitoring telemetry and cameras; and execute flight acceptance, qualification, and development testing campaigns. In the Integration focus, you'll coordinate between test article design/build teams and operations; develop test plans and procedures; manage test data and documentation; and support anomaly investigation and resolution. You'll solve technical problems across varying timeframes and complexity, continuously improve processes for speed and efficiency, and have opportunities to work across focus areas as you develop. The role is hands-on, fast-paced, and collaborative. No aerospace experience required—the team welcomes those with backgrounds in aviation, automotive, manufacturing, offshore operations, industrial systems, construction, or adjacent fields. You'll see hardware come to life through rigorous testing and directly contribute to flight readiness of Terran R.
