As a Senior Propulsion Test Engineer, you will architect and operate test infrastructure for hardware research and development of jet engines and subsystems. You will have direct responsibility for ensuring every new design is rigorously tested to meet quality and performance metrics before aircraft integration. Your work embodies the "test-like-you-fly" philosophy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architect test stand design and comprehensive documentation (engineering drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, test procedures) for component-to-integrated-system testing
- Maintain test facility operations and perform preventive/corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and facility upkeep
- Implement robust data and video recording infrastructure for test validation
- Analyze test data for equipment activation, calibration, and operational verification
- Diagnose stand problems efficiently and execute corrective actions
- Continuously improve facility capabilities to increase test throughput and reliability
- Perform harness assembly tasks including crimping, soldering, cable lacing, and troubleshooting
- Operate manual machine shop equipment (drills, cutting tools, mills, lathes)
The company operates with a flat structure and generalist-with-specialist-depth culture, moving fast while maintaining engineering excellence. In-office presence five days per week is considered essential to foster collaboration and company culture.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years hands-on experience with fluidic and mechanical systems and test operations
- Experience with hazardous environments (flammables, high voltage, pressurized systems) and associated safety mitigations
- Knowledge of fluid systems hardware and instrumentation (pressure, temperature, load cells, relays, solenoids, pneumatics)
- Familiarity with data acquisition and control systems, PLC hardware, computer networking, and software interfaces
- Proficiency with PLC and data processing software (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW)
- Initiative for continuous improvement and self-direction
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
