Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. The company is developing a rocket, factory, and business from the ground up, with a culture emphasizing autonomy, ownership, and impact at every level. The Propulsion team focuses on developing and delivering highly performant and manufacturable engines for Terran R. Engineers own the entire lifecycle of their parts, from initial design through production to qualification and flight. The team fosters bottoms-up decision-making and free-from-gatekeeping culture where ownership and accountability are paramount. As the flight configuration enters qualification, the team is exploring modifications for future engines, including thrust upgrades, new cycles, and design for mass production. As a Senior Engine Assembly Responsible Engineer on the Propulsion Integrated Design team, you will own the overall layout and packaging of Aeon-R engines across all configurations (development, qualification, acceptance, first stage vs. upper stage). You will design and analyze final integration hardware such as secondary structures, fluid manifolds, tubing, and custom fittings. You'll work closely with component and sub-system owners across the Propulsion department to drive toward optimal engine design. You will lead clean sheet conceptual design and layouts of new/upgraded engine configurations, own and release top-level CAD models of the engine assembly, and track/report mass and mass projections. You'll own the Interface Control Diagram for Aeon-R engines, requiring close collaboration with vehicle and test stand partners. This role offers significant technical ownership and the opportunity to shape a critical component of a next-generation launch vehicle.
