As a Senior Propulsion Component Engineer (Fluids) at Impulse, you will lead the design and development of propulsion system components from concept through product realization. You'll own all aspects of component design, including valves and fluid systems operating in cryogenic, high-pressure, and high-temperature environments. Key responsibilities include: - Design propulsion system valves and fluid components for demanding aerospace applications - Generate detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings - Perform fluid dynamics, thermal, and structural analysis to validate designs - Establish assembly procedures and work hands-on with manufacturing technicians to optimize production processes - Define and support rigorous component development and qualification testing protocols - Resolve complex technical challenges with innovative, resourceful solutions - Collaborate with a fast-paced, agile engineering team building high-performance spacecraft from clean-sheet designs Required qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field - 5+ years of demonstrated experience in valve or component design - Strong understanding of component design principles: materials selection, compatibility, seals, wear analysis, and force/torque margin determination - Hands-on experience with fluid, electrical, and mechanical systems - Proficiency in CAD software with ability to quickly learn new tools - Demonstrated ability across the full hardware lifecycle: requirements definition, conceptual design, procurement, fabrication, assembly, and testing This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge propulsion technology at a company building next-generation spacecraft.
