Salary: USD 150,000 - 250,000 / annual

Amca is building America's advanced industrial base for aerospace and defense. The company operates seven factories nationwide and delivers critical avionics, hydraulic, and electrical components for military and commercial platforms including the F-35, F-16, F/A-18, 737MAX, 787, A320neo, and M1 Abrams. As Senior Propulsion Component Engineer, you will own the design of propulsion control hardware from concept through qualification. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong fluid dynamics fundamentals paired with practical, manufacturable hardware design. Key responsibilities include: **Design & Analysis**: Lead design of valves, regulators, servovalves, actuators, pumps, and manifolds for hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Perform hydraulic and pneumatic analysis covering flow, pressure drop, response, and thermal behavior. Develop analytical and CFD models to predict performance and guide design decisions. Select materials, seals, and surface treatments for fluid compatibility, pressure, temperature, and contamination requirements. **Documentation**: Produce detailed CAD models and GD&T-controlled drawings suitable for production. Author design requirements, interface control documents, and complete technical data packages. Maintain design records and support configuration management through product lifecycle. **Qualification & Mentorship**: Partner with test, manufacturing, and supply chain teams from build through qualification. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action on design and field issues. Review junior engineer work and mentor on fluid design methods and standards. Required: Bachelor's in mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering discipline. 5+ years designing propulsion systems or fluid power hardware in aerospace, defense, or comparable high-reliability industry. Strong command of propulsion components, hydraulics, and pneumatics fundamentals. Proficiency in 3D CAD (Creo, SolidWorks, NX) and GD&T. Demonstrated ability to carry designs from requirements through qualification. Preferred: Master's degree. CFD tools experience (ANSYS Fluent, Simcenter STAR-CCM+). Servo valves, aerospace actuation, or high-pressure fluid systems experience. DO-160 environmental qualification and MIL-STD familiarity. Multi-site manufacturing experience. Note: ITAR-controlled position requiring U.S. person status.
