Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building the future of energy-efficient AI compute. The company owns and operates every layer of the stack—from power generation to cloud services—to solve the energy bottleneck constraining AI workload deployment. As Senior Project Engineer, you will lead the strategic greenfield startup of a high-volume manufacturing facility, acting as a primary technical bridge between design engineering and factory operations. This is a hands-on senior role with significant scope: you will own the commissioning strategy, capital equipment selection, process definition, and operational excellence of a new manufacturing plant scaling from zero to high-volume production. Key responsibilities include: • Strategic Plant Execution & CapEx Management: Direct manufacturing floor layouts, equipment installation, and utility infrastructure planning; manage scope, schedule, and budget for major capital projects. • Capital Project Ownership: Own equipment procurement, vendor negotiation, and Factory/Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT). • Advanced Equipment Integration: Serve as Subject Matter Expert for selecting and commissioning advanced manufacturing machinery aligned with long-term production goals. • NPI Leadership: Lead New Product Introduction initiatives, translating 3D models into scalable, repeatable assembly processes. • DFMA & Continuous Improvement: Initiate Design for Manufacturability and Assembly reviews with design teams to drive cost reduction and efficiency. • Operational Excellence: Create and enforce manufacturing documentation standards (SOPs, Work Instructions) with strict regulatory and safety compliance. • Technical Mentorship: Provide expert guidance to junior project engineers and manufacturing staff. • Strategic Change Management: Lead complex Engineering Change Orders, analyzing impacts on inventory, tooling, and line balance. • Stakeholder Partnerships: Drive collaboration with Sales, Project Management, and Supply Chain to resolve production challenges. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (Master's a plus). • 7+ years of engineering or manufacturing experience with proven track record in greenfield plant startups, heavy equipment implementation, or high-volume assembly. • Demonstrated ability to lead engineering initiatives, manage project portfolios, and guide teams through complex technical challenges. • Expert proficiency with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) for factory layout and fixture design. • Extensive experience using ERP/MRP software at a strategic level. • Expert knowledge of building/safety codes and standards; ability to apply them to facility infrastructure. • Exceptional analytical ability and proven track record of completing complicated, long-term projects. • Bonus: Professional Engineer (PE) license, PMP Certification, or supervisory/contractor management experience during facility build-outs. • Note: This is a safety-sensitive position requiring drug and alcohol program participation.
