nPlan is a Series B startup backed by GV (Google Ventures) and Demis Hassabis (DeepMind founder) that uses machine learning and large construction project datasets to forecast outcomes and reduce risk in infrastructure projects. We're seeking a Senior Project Controls Engineer to join our client-facing team and help major construction projects make faster, data-driven decisions.
In this role, you'll leverage your project controls expertise to maximize client value from nPlan's platform. You'll work cross-functionally across client engagement, product deployment, commercial, and product teams. Key responsibilities include: coaching clients on advanced features (including LLM-based tools); building and maintaining strong relationships within client organizations; managing strategic projects to embed nPlan within client workflows; collaborating with the Commercial team on engagement and retention; working with Product Managers and AI Engineers on prototyping; and serving as a domain expert in LLM evaluation cycles. You'll have autonomy and ownership from day one, with potential line management of junior client engineers as you grow.
While remote-based, you'll attend monthly client visits and team meetings at the London office, plus international client visits. You'll work with talented people passionate about revolutionizing how infrastructure gets built, and you'll have exposure to generative AI and advanced forecasting technologies.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Approximately 3+ years of experience in planning, risk, PMO, or project management roles on major construction projects
- Client-facing transformation experience where you've driven process change with multiple stakeholders, ideally involving technology implementation
- Strong understanding of large construction schedules (P6), how they're built, and how to analyze them
- Demonstrable experience implementing strategic projects that significantly improve organizational outcomes
- Passion for implementing technology to improve the construction industry
- Excellent relationship-building skills and attention to detail
- Nice to haves: software company experience, experience implementing software in construction, or LLM application experience
