GitLab is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead complex, cross-functional technology programs within the Enterprise Technology & AI organization. This role sits at the intersection of IT, Finance, Legal, Product, and Business Operations, serving as a trusted advisor to IT leadership and translating strategic objectives into structured roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
You will own end-to-end program management for large-scale, high-complexity Enterprise Technology & AI initiatives, including scope definition, roadmap development, resource planning, and delivery tracking. Key responsibilities include defining and communicating clear success metrics, reporting status and risk to leadership on a regular cadence, and escalating issues with recommended solutions. You'll partner with business and technology stakeholders to develop deep understanding of underlying problems, desired outcomes, and solution trade-offs.
The role requires driving cross-functional alignment by facilitating decision-making, resolving dependencies, and maintaining momentum across distributed teams. You will recommend and implement improvements to program governance frameworks, intake processes, and ways of working across the CIO organization. You'll translate complex technical and business requirements into clear, actionable work plans accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences, while anticipating risks and interdependencies across the portfolio.
This is a highly visible position requiring both technical fluency and business acumen, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and align diverse stakeholders. You'll model GitLab values and remote work best practices, contributing to a high-trust, async-first team culture.
Required: 6+ years of program management experience with a strong track record delivering large, cross-functional Enterprise Technology & AI programs. You should demonstrate ability to simplify complex processes, influence without authority, and earn trust with senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Sales, and Product. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, with experience presenting to executive audiences. Familiarity with Enterprise IT domains (business systems, data, AI, security, infrastructure, enterprise architecture) is preferred. Experience with program/project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, SAFe) is required; certifications (PMP, CSM) are a plus. Remote, globally distributed work experience with async collaboration bias is expected.
