IonQ is seeking a Senior Program Manager to build and lead its new Delivery Excellence function. This role focuses on creating systems and processes that coordinate complex delivery motions across GTM, Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Finance to ensure customers receive quantum computing systems on time, IonQ gets paid predictably, and customers are delighted with the experience.
You will own the delivery relationship for IonQ's highest-profile, highest-value on-premise quantum computing customers, from contract signature through acceptance. Today, delivery work is fragmented across multiple teams with no common coordination function or shared source of truth. You will establish lightweight systems, reviews, and reporting cadences that keep delivery predictable and transparent.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and operating the Delivery Excellence function from the ground up
- Creating coordination mechanisms across cross-functional teams
- Establishing a single source of truth for customer commitments and timelines
- Hiring and leading a small team of program managers to scale the function
- Pulling status from engineering and science teams and translating it into actionable insights for customers and executives
- Managing delivery for on-premise quantum computing installs
- Maintaining predictable reporting rhythms and holding multiple complex programs simultaneously
This is a technical program management role requiring both technical depth and business acumen. You'll work with a customer-obsessed, execution-driven mindset, balancing intellectual curiosity with the discipline to keep complex delivery motions aligned. The role demands strong communication and collaboration skills across internal teams and external stakeholders, plus the credibility to influence engineering and science teams.
The position is based in Bothell, WA with hybrid flexibility (a few days per week remote) and involves up to 10% travel.
