Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Production Engineer I based at its Albuquerque, NM site (part of the SolAero Technologies acquisition) to develop and maintain manufacturing processes for advanced solar panels used in space applications. This role ensures solar panel reliability and performance in the harsh orbital environment. You will support the Panel Engineering Manager and Production organization in optimizing manufacturing workflows, quality assurance, and process improvements for space-grade solar panel production. The role involves collaborating with engineering and production teams to scale manufacturing capabilities while maintaining the highest reliability standards required for mission-critical space hardware. Rocket Lab's Space Systems team has enabled over 1,700 missions, including interplanetary exploration, in-space manufacturing, and national security initiatives. The team builds complete spacecraft, precision payloads, and critical subsystems (solar panels, flight software, star trackers, optical systems, separation systems, radios) for partners including NASA, the Space Development Agency, and the U.S. Space Force, with missions to the Moon and Mars. As a Senior Production Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in manufacturing processes, quality control, and aerospace production to support the scaling of advanced solar panel production. This is an individual contributor role focused on process excellence and reliability engineering for space hardware.
