Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Product Sourcing Engineer to drive strategic supply network development and cost management for the Rocket Motor Systems (RMS) team. This role is critical to building next-generation solid rocket motors and establishing Anduril as a large-volume provider of tactical rocket motors. You will own supplier selection and strategic partnerships across product lifecycles, working cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams. Key responsibilities include conducting supplier selection leveraging approved supplier lists, partnering with strategic suppliers on concept scoping, feature trade-offs, should-cost modeling, and joint design development. You'll drive BOM development and consolidation, manage CAPEX throughout new product introduction (NPI), and conduct value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility. Additional responsibilities include completing BOM risk assessments with alternate component sourcing, ensuring component qualifications ahead of production, reducing complexity through commonality optimization and supplier rationalization, and leading cost engineering activities to converge bottom-up cost curves to product targets while maximizing total cost of ownership (TCO) across the product lifecycle. You'll also manage ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs, import/export costs, and cost inflation. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field, 5+ years of sourcing engineering, supplier engagement/development, or design experience with electronics and/or mechanical devices, domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO work at component and product levels, ability to travel up to 25%, and willingness to relocate to Huntsville, AL for on-site work. Preferred qualifications include a master's degree or advanced technical degree, deeper experience in design and development of electronics/mechanical devices, advanced sourcing activities including commodity/sourcing management, supplier development, early supplier engagement, experience in highly regulatory environments (preferably energetics and solid rocket motor production), familiarity with high-mix low-volume product development, startup environment exposure, and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. TS clearance.
