Pano AI is hiring a Senior Product Researcher to drive customer-evidence-based decision-making across the company's product portfolio and go-to-market strategy. The company is the leader in AI-powered wildfire detection and intelligence, using advanced hardware, software, and AI to help fire professionals detect and respond to wildfires faster. With $89M in funding and recognition as one of Fast Company's Top 10 Most Innovative AI Companies, Pano serves government agencies, utilities, insurers, and private landowners across the US, Australia, and Canada, monitoring over 50 million acres. In this role, you'll own research end-to-end across multiple concurrent product areas—from scoping research questions and recruiting participants to synthesizing findings into actionable recommendations. You'll partner closely with product managers, design, engineering, GTM, and customer success teams to evaluate future opportunities, frame de-risking questions, and generate evidence before roadmap capacity is committed. Your work will span the wildfire intelligence platform, new product expansions (both software and hardware), key partnerships, and go-to-market assessment. Key responsibilities include conducting market analysis and competitive intelligence to inform positioning and entry decisions; contributing customer and market evidence to pricing, packaging, and adoption strategy; running field and co-design research with customers on site; and building research capability across the organization through reusable guides, a findings repository, and coaching for PMs and designers. You'll produce concise, well-structured readouts and briefs that inform executive decisions and present directly to internal and customer audiences. Your customers operate in high-consequence conditions (command centers, control rooms, active deployments), so research is grounded in real operational contexts. REQUIREMENTS: - 8+ years in product research, UX research, market research, or product strategy, with a track record of work that visibly changed a roadmap, investment decision, or go-to-market plan - Mixed-methods depth: strong qualitative interviewing and synthesis, plus comfort with survey design, segmentation, opportunity sizing, and pricing research methods - Proven ability to run multiple workstreams independently with minimal direction, choosing the right method for the decision and delivering on compressed timelines without sacrificing rigor - Experience researching complex B2B or enterprise domains with operational end users and multi-stakeholder buying committees - Excellent synthesis and storytelling: ability to turn messy fieldwork into crisp, structured arguments that senior leaders and customers can follow and act on - Strong presence with customers, from frontline operators to executive sponsors, with good judgment managing sensitive account dynamics - Master's degree or equivalent practical experience required - Personal qualities of curiosity, pro-activeness, and open-mindedness NICE-TO-HAVES: - Domain experience in wildfire, utilities, energy, public safety, or emergency management, or another high-risk, compliance-driven environment - Experience at a Series B–D company, including helping establish research practices where little structure existed - Familiarity with AI/ML products, imagery or sensor data, or combined hardware and software offerings - Experience with field research methods such as ride-alongs, site visits, and observation in operational settings - Passion for wildfire prevention, climate change adaptation, or firefighting
