Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform enabling organizations dependent on physical operations to harness IoT data for actionable insights. The company serves agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing—industries representing over 40% of global GDP.
This is a defining opportunity for a Senior Product Manager to build the monetization platform that brings every new Samsara product to market. You will own the monetization primitives that every product team depends on, shaping what Samsara charges for and how it bundles offerings. As Samsara expands to new categories and markets, the monetization platform must support scaling across a diverse product suite—from fleet and equipment telematics to AI products built on top of them.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the end-to-end monetization platform (packaging, entitlements, metering, rating, provisioning) that carries products from beta to general availability
- Own time to market and margin targets; instrument and improve both across product launches
- Define pricing strategies for new AI products, including agent work, MCP and API access, and usage-based models
- Make unit economics visible at the point of decision so teams understand cost to serve before setting price
- Build monetization primitives once so product teams can ship commercial changes without reinventing metering or entitlement logic
- Partner with Finance, Sales Operations, and Revenue Systems to ensure offerings are billable, reportable, and auditable
- Champion Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as the company scales globally
You will work across the full product suite and collaborate with engineering teams, many based in Europe, requiring flexibility with Eastern Time zone availability.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of product management experience shipping products used by external customers
- Demonstrated record of owning a business or product metric and changing its trajectory (with measurable before/after results)
- Experience building platform or infrastructure products that other product and engineering teams depend on, including at least one taken from zero to one
- Technical depth sufficient for engineers to treat you as a peer: Computer Science or Engineering degree, prior engineering experience, or demonstrated fluency in system architecture trade-offs
- Comfort with unit economics; ability to reason about cost to serve, gross margin, and how pricing models affect both
- Executive-level communication and presence; comfortable presenting and defending strategy to CEO, CFO, and customers
- Based in a North American time zone; must be able to work NA Eastern Time
IDEAL CANDIDATE ALSO HAS:
- Prior work on entitlement, metering, or billing infrastructure
- Experience launching AI products where inference cost materially affects gross margin
- Track record of convincing other product teams to adopt a platform instead of building their own
Note: Prior experience with pricing, billing, or revenue systems is not required; the company hires for technical depth, evidence of building platforms other teams choose to adopt, and a record of owning and moving a metric.
