Datavant is a healthcare data collaboration platform enabling secure, accessible, and actionable health data across providers, health plans, researchers, and life sciences companies. The Platform Product team partners with Core Technology and Platform Engineering to build technical foundations that accelerate product development.
In this role, you will serve as the dedicated product partner for the ML Platform and Data Science teams. The Data Science team is transforming Datavant into an AI-first company by integrating AI into existing products, developing new solutions, and owning AI/ML technology assets end-to-end.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive adoption and impact by working with Data Science, Engineering, and Product teams to advance cross-product AI/ML shared capabilities, drive adoption, and ensure value realization. Evangelize data science wins, remove roadblocks, and articulate the impact of DS initiatives.
- Be customer-focused by identifying and solving high-value problems for internal stakeholders and external partners through thoughtful application of data science. Collaborate to define, develop, and ship impactful models, features, and platforms that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Provide clarity by navigating ambiguity in AI/ML application, offering clear direction on product strategy, initiative prioritization, and build vs. buy decisions. Collaborate with technical leads on informed trade-offs.
- Define product requirements by translating complex business needs and data science possibilities into clear, motivating requirements. Foster deep understanding of data, models, systems, and user workflows.
- Lead by example, fostering collaboration between Product, Data Science, and Engineering. Champion the strategic importance of data science and AI throughout the organization.
- Operate like an owner, taking full ownership from ideation through development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
You bring 5+ years in product management, product strategy, or engineering, ideally in healthcare or similar regulated industries where security and compliance are central to design and development. You are technical—comfortable diving into code, notebooks, and data analysis when needed. You have experience advancing shared capabilities, platforms, or services. You are highly organized with strong project management skills, exceptional written and verbal communication, and the ability to explain complex strategies to diverse audiences. You work at high speed, are motivated by execution, and balance vision-setting with relentless delivery. You are a collaborative team player who understands others' motivations and perspectives.
